About The Position

Be the face of Bliffert Lumber by delivering products and creating outstanding customer experiences. Enjoy a combination of driving, customer service, equipment operation, and hands-on work. Work independently while staying connected to a supportive team. Play a direct role in helping contractors, builders, and homeowners successfully complete projects. Operate a variety of equipment, including truck-mounted Moffett forklifts. Every day is different, with opportunities to visit customer jobsites and interact with a variety of customers.

Requirements

  • Valid and active driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Federal Medical Examination and obtain and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (Fed Med Card).
  • Ability and willingness to safely unload and carry building materials into homes, jobsites, and customer locations.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 75-100 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and commitment to safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous delivery, driving, transportation, or logistics experience preferred.
  • Building materials transportation experience preferred.
  • Experience operating box trucks or similar delivery vehicles preferred.
  • Forklift or Moffett experience preferred; training and certification opportunities available.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport and deliver building materials while ensuring product integrity, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service.
  • Safely load, transport, and unload lumber, building materials, and related products.
  • Secure loads using approved load-securing methods and equipment.
  • Apply product-specific securement techniques based on material type and delivery requirements.
  • Deliver materials accurately and on schedule to residential, commercial, and jobsite locations.
  • Navigate changing road, traffic, weather, and jobsite conditions while maintaining a strong safety mindset.
  • Represent Bliffert professionally during all customer interactions.
  • Create positive experiences that build trust and reinforce Bliffert's reputation for service excellence.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, dispatchers, and managers.
  • Provide exceptional service during deliveries and customer interactions.
  • Assist customers with unloading and placement of materials as needed.
  • Build positive relationships through professionalism, follow-through, and a customer-first attitude.
  • Resolve delivery concerns and identify practical solutions when challenges arise.
  • Support the Bliffert mission of creating Raving Fans with every interaction.
  • Operate a Moffett truck-mounted forklift to load, unload, and place materials at delivery locations.
  • Assist with daily yard operations including staging materials, organizing inventory, and maintaining an orderly work environment.
  • Support team members with loading, unloading, and warehouse activities as needed.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report operational concerns promptly.
  • Follow proper material handling procedures to prevent damage and promote efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery records, and transportation documentation.
  • Adhere to all applicable DOT, FMCSA, company, and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate safe driving practices and sound judgment in all situations.
  • Follow proper lifting, material handling, and equipment operation procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with hours-of-service requirements and vehicle inspection standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety by identifying hazards and taking proactive corrective action.
