About The Position

Hajoca Corporation is seeking a Non CDL Delivery Driver for their Oklahoma City, OK location. This role is ideal for individuals who are friendly, customer-service oriented, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and enjoy working independently. The company is a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies, operating in a decentralized environment where each location functions like a small business.

Requirements

  • Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years while employed.
  • Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
  • Know of, be able to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
  • Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations, making deliveries to various destinations including job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Hajoca locations, or other locations as directed by management.
  • Load Hajoca merchandise onto the truck at the Profit Center, ensuring it is properly secured to prevent shifting, damage, or falling.
  • Ensure necessary equipment for safe unloading is available.
  • Understand shipping documents for each delivery and have accurate directions to each destination.
  • Review shipping documentation to ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload the correct merchandise from the truck and place it as directed by the receiving party, obtaining a legible signature per Company policy.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries before releasing materials.
  • Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Load the truck with merchandise picked up at vendor locations, returned by customers, or purchased from other wholesalers.
  • Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses encountered during deliveries.
  • Inspect the truck and required parts/accessories for safe operating condition before departure, and keep the truck clean.
  • Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • Complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report at the end of the workday if driving a vehicle over 10,001 lbs. GVWR and a defect is found.
  • Remove keys from the truck at the end of the workday and store them in the approved location.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management.
