About The Position

Stamford Health is seeking a full-time Nocturnist to join their growing team. The Nocturnist will provide supervision, consultation, and teaching to residents in the Department of Medicine and Family Practice. They will also offer medical consultation for Surgery and OB/GYN Residents and provide emergency inpatient coverage for medical patients on the non-teaching medical service. The role involves working with 2-3 other Nocturnists at night, with an average of five admissions per night per physician. The schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off. The hospitalist group provides 24/7 inpatient care, including a closed ICU and exclusively inpatient primary care services on general floors and critical care areas. Stamford Hospital is a 305-bed teaching community hospital affiliated with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, featuring a new 10-story tower with private patient rooms opened in 2016. Requirements

MD/DO License; CT Medical License or the ability to secure one.
BE/BC required; Internal Medicine highly preferred.
Prior Family Practice & sufficient in-patient experience to effectively carry out essential responsibilities.
Excellent communication, critical care, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

Provide supervision, consultation, and teaching to residents in the Department of Medicine and Family Practice.
Provide medical consultation as necessary for Surgery and OB/GYN Residents.
Provide emergency inpatient coverage of medical patients on the non-teaching medical service.
Work with 2-3 other Nocturnists at night.
Manage an average of five admissions per night/physician.
Provide in-patient care 24/7.
Provide inpatient care in general floors and critical care areas.
