About The Position

Stamford Health is seeking a full-time Nocturnist to join their growing team at Stamford Hospital, a 305-bed teaching community hospital affiliated with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. The Nocturnist will be responsible for supervising, consulting, and teaching residents in the Department of Medicine and Family Practice. Additionally, the role involves providing medical consultation for Surgery and OB/GYN Residents and offering emergency inpatient coverage for medical patients on the non-teaching medical service. The position offers a collaborative environment with 2-3 other Nocturnists, working in a beautiful new hospital tower with private patient rooms. The average admissions per night per physician is five. The schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off. The Hospitalist group provides 24/7 inpatient care, including a closed ICU and exclusively inpatient primary care services on general floors and critical care areas. Requirements

• MD/DO License
• CT Medical License or the ability to secure one
• BE/BC required; Internal Medicine highly preferred
• Prior Family Practice & sufficient in-patient experience to effectively carry out essential responsibilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent critical care skills
• Excellent computer skills

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, consultation, and teaching to residents in the Department of Medicine and Family Practice.
• Provide medical consultation as necessary for Surgery and OB/GYN Residents.
• Provide emergency inpatient coverage of medical patients on the non-teaching medical service.
• Provide in-patient care 24/7.
• Provide primary care service for general floors and critical care areas.
