About The Position

NextLink is a Hudson Oaks, Texas-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) delivering High Speed Internet and Voice Services throughout multiple states to residential, business, K-12 Education and government customers. The company focuses on delivering an overall customer experience that competitors cannot match. The NOC Technician position involves monitoring and taking corrective action on infrastructure within a 24/7/365 NOC environment. The team is responsible for supporting an IP network and telecommunications infrastructure for NextLink equipment.

Requirements

Candidate should also be highly motivated, very organized, and can multi task
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from one-year College or technical school; or two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with routers and switches
SNMP Experience
Basic Routing Experience
Basic Wireless experience

Nice To Haves

CCNA or Network+ (or equivalent are desirable, not required)

Responsibilities

Monitor switching, digital, optical, wireless and associated telecommunications equipment.
Perform fault analysis, isolation and remediation in switching, digital, optical, wireless and other technologies.
Maintain accurate records in a variety of tracking resources.
Develop extensive knowledge of NextLink Broadband products and services. This will include carrier, fiber, and all commercial and residential products offered by NextLink Broadband.
Provide Single Point of Contact duties for high-risk & service impacting events.
Open and refer Trouble Tickets to the appropriate level of support.
Escalate network problems both internally and externally.
Interface with customers, engineers, vendors and technicians to resolve trouble reports.
