About The Position

Elite Care at Oatfield Estates, located in Milwaukie off Oatfield Road, prides itself on being different. More than 20 years ago, our founders set out to fundamentally rethink senior living. We are not a typical senior living facility run by a large corporation with thousands of employees. We are locally owned and operated. Our community is designed to provide residents with excellent care, a high quality of life, and feelings of belonging, influence, and purpose. Additionally, we are the first assisted living community in Oregon to earn the JCAHO accreditation. As a Med Tech with us, you will provide daily care to our residents by supporting their daily activities of living. This includes hygiene assistance and providing emotional support and encouragement, monitoring and reporting changes in health and behavior, and supporting the overall needs of our residents. You will be genuinely interested in supporting our residents and their team members. Experience working with seniors is a plus; however, it is not required. Other requirements include valuing and respecting our residents and having consistent attendance and a reliable method of transportation; the ability to correspond and document properly for resident charting purposes; and excellent communication skills. Training is provided, and a medication administration certification is not required. Please be advised that you will train as a caregiver first for 30 days to better understand the needs of our residents.

Requirements

18 years or older
Able to pass background check in Oregon
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year medication management/administration experience required
Ability to administer insulin required
Speak, read and write English fluently
Value and respect of elderly/assisted living
Have consistent attendance/reliable method of transportation
Ability to correspond and document properly in charts and portal
Excellent oral communication, reading comprehension skills, written communication
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be a U.S. citizen and reside within the State of Oregon to apply.
Have reliable means of transportation/commuting to work.

Responsibilities

Assisting residents with ADLS
Teamwork, cooperation, training & development
Assist clients with personal care, which may include (but not limited to): Bathing/Bathroom Assistance Morning/Evening Preparations Morning/Evening Dress and attire
Provide emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks
Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and overall needs of clients
Maintain a clean, safe and orderly environment for both residents and colleagues
