About The Position

We're looking for a NOC Analyst Tier 2 to handle advanced network troubleshooting, configuration changes, and vendor escalation for issues beyond Tier 1 resolution scope. This role requires deep hands-on networking skills and the ability to diagnose complex multi-layer faults under pressure.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on network operations or engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. In lieu of degree, four additional years of experience in a NOC, SOC, IT security, or network engineering role
  • One of the following certifications, equivalent or better: Sec+ or CCNA
  • Strong proficiency in routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIPv2
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise networking equipment
  • Familiarity with firewall administration (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or equivalent)
  • Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays on rotating schedule

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret clearance preferred but not required
  • CCNP certification
  • Experience with SD-WAN platforms
  • Experience with network automation such as Ansible, Python, or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Receive and resolve all Tier 1 escalations for network faults, outages, and degradation
  • Perform advanced fault isolation including spanning routing protocols, switching, firewalls, WAN circuits
  • Serve as the advanced triage for all incoming customer calls, alerts, emails, and tickets using established playbooks to categorize, prioritize, and route
  • Contribute to playbook improvements by recommending updates
  • Execute approved configuration changes including routing adjustments, ACL updates, and VLAN changes
  • Escalate hardware failures and complex architectural issues to NOC Tier 3
  • Manage vendor and carrier escalations for circuit and hardware issues
  • Maintain network documentation such as topology diagrams, device inventory, circuit records
  • Participate in change management process such as submitting, reviewing, and executing change requests
  • Produce shift-end NOC summary report covering all events and open issues
  • Maintain the NOC Event log for all events during the shift
  • Participate briefings and training sessions
