The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, is a premier advanced manufacturing facility that supports the safety, security, reliability and effectiveness of our nation's nuclear deterrent. This role is designed to be the next step in the NMO Technician job progression. This may include activities such as intermediate level testing, troubleshooting, repairing, or refurbishing with foundational understanding of the sub-systems involved for the projects. This position also supports engineering, prototypes, development, or production requirements for primarily low volume/high mix of electronic, mechanical or software related products while complying with workmanship standards and demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the work they perform.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 2 or more years of experience required
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

  • Some positions within this classification may require unique electrical, mechanical, and/or electronic skills and abilities.
  • Formal training or practical experience equivalent to technical knowledge obtained in military training courses or through a two-year technical degree.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates experience and ability to perform basic technical work activities.

  • Understands basic documentation and drawings that define the work being performed.
  • Performs work under close supervision/direction while learning self-direction.
  • Engages in minimal interactions with Honeywell customers.
  • Understands the basics of Honeywell Operating Systems (HOS) and Management Operating Systems (MOS).
