NIH Immunology Fellow Division: KYCOM Department: Academic Affairs Experience: Entry-level Job Code: IWSKYCOMNIH Supervisor/Reports to: Malgorzata Simm Start Date: 5/18/2026 Responsibilities and Career Competencies Assist with organ harvesting from body donors in Gross Anatomy Laboratory (C, TW, CSD, P) Perform histological examination of thymic and splenic tissues (C, CSD, CT, T, P) Perform molecular biology experiments (DNA/RNA isolation and analysis) (C, CSD, CT, T) Assist with data collection and analysis (C, CSD, CT, T, TW) Track record of presentations to scientific and other audiences (P, C, CSD, CT, T, TW, L) Competencies/Skills: Communication (C), Teamwork (TW), Professionalism (P), Career & Self Development (CSD), Critical Thinking (CT), Community Transformation (CTR), Leadership (L),Technology (T) Qualifications: Basic laboratory training and experience, including knowledge of research techniques and methodologies; strong analytical and data visualization skills; maintain 75% average grades with no course failures Computer Skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Social Media & New Technology, Research-related Technology Other Skills: Attention to detail, Strong active listening abilities, Public speaking, Written & verbal communication, Willingness to learn new things Work Schedule: 10h/week during semester, 30h/week during summer Work Conditions: Employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job: Odors/Smoke, Toxic Agents, Noise, Vibrations Number of Positions: 6 Pay Rate: $25/hour Location: KYCOM Research Laboratory Application Notes: Resumes and applications will be reviewed to determine if you meet the required qualifications for the position.
