About The Position

The Night Warehouse Manager will lead with a safety mindset, ensuring associates remain injury-free by championing safety procedures, processes, and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture. This role involves overseeing and developing warehouse associates through coaching, training, problem resolution, and leading by example. The manager will discuss associate performance with Sr. Warehouse Managers and create plans to address gaps. They will foster a cohesive organization by maintaining open communication and directing the workforce for efficient workflow, while supervising the productivity of associates within the warehouse department. Key responsibilities include driving associate engagement and retention, participating in hiring, reviewing performance, coaching on productivity and safety targets, and delivering disciplinary action. The manager will lead and direct associates to achieve accurate order fulfillment, staging, and loading, and oversee the preparation of the warehouse for the next shift. Monitoring operational information like "mis-picks" and productivity reports is crucial to ensure the shift meets rates and follows preferred methods, with actions taken to correct behaviors. For the day shift, responsibilities include designating dock locations for inbound carriers, ensuring product is stocked according to food safety and FIFO processes, monitoring replenishment, and overseeing will call. The role also involves maintaining the physical condition and safety of the warehouse and equipment, preparing work orders for repairs, and requisitions for equipment. Collaboration with the operations management team to identify inventory shrink sources and develop action plans, as well as analyzing current operations to recommend improvements in expense and cost control, are essential. Regular facility inspections for safety hazards and ensuring Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed are also part of the duties. The manager will effectively schedule working shifts using planning tools like Microsoft Excel. Other duties may be assigned by the manager.

Requirements

Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution required.
Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures.
Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP and other regulatory requirements.
Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).
High school diploma or GED required.

HACCP certification a plus.
PCQI certification a plus.

Participate in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Warehouse Managers.
Review performance, coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.
Lead and direct associates to achieve accurate orders that are then staged and loaded on the trucks.
Oversee the preparation of the warehouse for shipping or receiving on the next shift.
Monitor operational information, such as "mis-picks" and productivity reports, to ensure the entire shift meets rates and follows preferred methods.
Take action through coaching and counseling to correct behaviors.
On day shift, designate dock locations for inbound carriers.
Ensure product is stocked in appropriate location in accordance with food safety and FIFO processes & procedures.
Monitor replenishment activity to ensure stock is available for the shipping shift and to minimize the potential for “shorts”.
Oversee will call.
Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment.
Work with operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in development of an action plan.
Analyze the current operations and make recommendations to improve on expense and cost control.
Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them to the safety manager as appropriate.
Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment.
Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed.
Effectively schedule working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel).
