About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for loading the delivery trucks for daily deliveries in an accurate and effective manner. The role involves reading production schedules, customer orders, and shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. The associate will convey materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas, sorting and stacking items on racks, shelves, or in bins. This includes sorting and storing perishable goods in refrigerated rooms and marking materials with identifying information. The role also involves opening pallets, bales, crates, and other containers, recording received materials, and coordinating with forklift operators for product shelving. Additionally, the associate will assist in maintaining warehouse cleanliness, pulling employee sale contents, sample orders, and customer pick-up orders, and operating trucks to move to loading docks. Other warehouse duties as assigned by supervisor/manager are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measured, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • No special computer skills are needed for this position.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 100 pounds for a period of eight or more hours per day.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a good driving record.
  • Must have proof of insurance.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment including: forklifts, pallet jacks, and a pallet wrapper.

Responsibilities
