Stockers are responsible for stocking and straightening departments, clearing and cleaning aisles, and unloading and loading trucks. Requirements

  • Ability to spot for Forklift Drivers to ensure safe retrieval of merchandise and keep people out of fall-danger zone.
  • Ability to follow merchandising standards and practices.
  • Ability to align product, collect and return stray items, and stock to maintain high product levels.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities.
  • Ability to write lists of products to be brought from steel, by forklift driver, for stocking.
  • Ability to use a box knife to cut boxes for display/accessibility of product and to cut twine or shrink-wrap from pallets.
  • Ability to wrap or tie and tag pallets to be returned to steel.
  • Ability to stock opened cases on shelves.
  • Ability to move and position pallets of merchandise using a manual pallet jack.
  • Ability to stack product from partial pallets onto full pallets.
  • Ability to mark product numbers on unmarked items using a marking gun.
  • Ability to observe and ensure correct product signage.
  • Ability to set up display models, assembling as necessary.
  • Ability to make lists of products to be brought down from steel to be stocked.
  • Ability to tag pallets to go in steel with product identification, quantity, and date worked.
  • Ability to modify displays for safe handling by customers, e.g., bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges.
  • Ability to follow all safety and security procedures.
  • Ability to pull loose cardboard and slip-sheets from the floor.
  • Ability to operate a cardboard baler and trash compactor.
  • Ability to rewrap loose product using shrink-wrap.
  • Ability to load and unload freight trucks using a forklift and/or pallet jack, staging product pallets in assigned areas.
  • Ability to assist with front end duties as necessary.
  • Ability to assist in other departments of the store as necessary.
  • Ability to operate manual pallet jack, wheeled carts, trash compactor, cardboard baler, product marking gun, shrink wrap machine, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, box knife.
  • Ability to occasionally operate cash register, handheld scanners, computer, fax machine, phone, printer.
  • Ability to perform other functions as necessary or assigned.
  • Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work.

  • Observes and ensures correct product signage.
