Night Shipper
About The Position
Empire Packing is seeking a Night Shipper to join their team in Denver. This hourly position is part of the Shipping Department and reports to the Shipping Lead/Shipping Supervisor. The primary work location is the Shipping/Receiving Dock, with no travel required. The role involves operating electric forklifts and pallet jacks, selecting cases of product, building pallets, loading trailers, performing cleaning and housekeeping tasks, and completing paperwork accurately. Adherence to GMP standards, OSHA safety regulations, and company policies is essential. The company is committed to a safe and secure environment, requiring drug, alcohol, and background checks, as well as the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine prior to employment. Employment eligibility verification is also required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work 40+ hour work weeks
- Ability to work in 32⁰ and below environment
- Ability to make quick and decisive decisions: good judgment and common sense required
- Attention to detail
- Good math skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to obtain a forklift and pallet jack license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and kneel repeatedly for long periods of time
Responsibilities
- Operate electric forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe manner
- Use order sheets to accurately select cases of product
- Build pallets of product according to company standards
- Load trailers in a safe and organized manner
- Perform cleaning and general housekeeping tasks each night
- Perform Letdowns accurately in a timely manner
- Fill out all paperwork accurately and completely
- Adhere to all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations
- Communicate inaccuracies with Leads and Supervisors
- Follow all Empire Packing/Denver Processing policies and procedures
