About The Position

Provides leadership and supervision to Mental Health Worker-Night as outlined in the supervisor duties below. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Plans and directs work, ensuring that work schedules are adhered to and assigning specific duties to subordinate staff. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees. Conducts staff evaluations, job performance management (including coaching/counseling), and corrective action. Responsible for ensuring appropriate staff training and education programs are provided. Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings. Demonstrates effective management of a team toward achievement of goals, including appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • 21 years old or older
  • Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 1.5 years of professional experience in working with youth with emotional and behavioral issues in a residential setting.
  • Driver’s License to operate passenger vehicle.
  • Current CPR/1st Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 day and maintain certification
  • Successfully complete and maintain certification in identified Violence Intervention and Prevention Program
  • Proficiency in managing crises and emergencies calmly and efficiently, employing appropriate de-escalation techniques and following established protocols.
  • Knowledge of security procedures and protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff members, including the ability to conduct security checks and respond to emergency situations.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and handle unexpected situations during overnight shifts, demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness.
  • Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and supervision to Mental Health Worker-Night.
  • Plans and directs work, ensuring that work schedules are adhered to and assigning specific duties to subordinate staff.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees.
  • Conducts staff evaluations, job performance management (including coaching/counseling), and corrective action.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate staff training and education programs are provided.
  • Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Demonstrates effective management of a team toward achievement of goals, including appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Respond promptly to requests for assistance in emergency situations.
  • Help coordinate emergency staff coverage and be available for emergency night coverage in lodge units.
  • In emergency situations, position staff into different lodges or cover lodge shifts as needed.
  • Assist in situations that require crisis intervention.
  • Must be available in stressful situations to lend support and aid in crisis.
  • Debrief crisis situations with childcare staff as to assess, evaluate and implement improved safety and intervention techniques.
  • Coach others in the YBGR policies, procedures and protocol.
  • Provide transportation assistance to lodge units when possible.
  • Responsible to make rounds of all lodge units to include visiting each lodge unit at least once when on duty.
  • Check all buildings on campus to ensure they are secure.
  • Responsible for compliance with and understanding of contract requirements as it relates to business and customer services.
