About The Position

The Supervisor-Respiratory assists in directing, planning, coordinating all clinical aspects of the Respiratory Therapy Department in such a manner as to assure quality care in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disorders. Serves as part of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health. Ability to perform essential functions of a respiratory care practitioner.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in respiratory therapy from an Accredited Respiratory Care Education Program is required.
  • 2 years of experience as a respiratory therapist is required.
  • 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience is required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT) is required.
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of practice is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy from an Accredited Respiratory Care Education Program is preferred.
  • Colleagues who meet educational requirements to become Registered by NBRC may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • In lieu of RRT, candidates with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) may be considered.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is preferred.
  • Specialty credential through NBRC is preferred (Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS), Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS), Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS), Asthma Educator Specialist (AE-C) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT)).
