About The Position

The Ziegenfelder Company, a part of the Armstrong Group, is seeking a Night Shift Freezer Technician for its Lockhart, TX facility. The Armstrong Group, a family-owned organization founded in 1946, has grown to encompass multiple industries including utilities, protection services, development, and frozen novelties, employing over 2,400 individuals nationwide. Ziegenfelder specializes in producing high-quality frozen twin pops under the Budget Saver brand and private label products for major retailers such as Walmart, Kroger, and Dollar General. The company operates facilities in Wheeling, WV; Chino, CA; Denver, CO; and Lockhart, TX. This role involves working a night shift from 10pm-6am, 40 hours per week, with set days off. The Freezer Technician will be responsible for handling finished products, ensuring quality and proper stacking on pallets, managing warehouse organization using FIFO, wrapping and tagging products, accurately entering inventory into tracking systems, and locating products for picking. The role also includes communicating with operations, assisting with unloading raw materials, and managing the picking, shipping, and receiving of both raw and finished goods. The technician will assess production needs for supplies, maintain adequate inventory, schedule and receive raw material shipments, and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety directives. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment is also a key aspect of the position.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 - 3 years of warehouse experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate electric powered forklifts and electric powered pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to work in cold temperatures.
  • Must be available to work all shifts to include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Pulling finished products from the production conveyor belt and stacking on pallets properly.
  • Checking all products to ensure proper coding.
  • Ensuring the proper amount of product is neatly stacked on pallets and all boxes on the pallet meet quality standards.
  • Ensuring organization in the warehouse using the (FIFO – First in - First out) method.
  • Wrapping palletized product with plastic stretch wrap.
  • Ensuring proper tags are printed and posted on all palletized products.
  • Ensuring that inventory is properly entered in appropriate inventory tracking systems.
  • Ensuring all palletized product is properly located in warehouse for picking.
  • Picking palletized product for shipping.
  • Communicating with operations to ensure correct amount of raw materials are readily available for each shift.
  • Assisting with unloading all raw materials.
  • Picking, shipping, and receiving of raw and finished goods.
  • Assessing production to ensure adequate supplies to operate efficiently.
  • Assisting with maintaining adequate inventory, scheduling, and receiving shipments of raw materials.
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and Ziegenfelder environmental, health, and safety directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
