The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned. This role involves performing janitorial duties, operating motorized cleaning equipment, and maintaining the daily upkeep of assigned areas. The position also includes responsibilities related to hazardous waste management, such as collecting, classifying, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste. The custodian must report incidents and hazardous conditions to their supervisor, comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures, and stop at-risk behavior of others and themselves. The role requires performing work assignments in a team with other employees, handling repetitive tasks, and maintaining a clean work area. Additionally, the custodian must follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules, take direction, respond to supervision, and communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers. They may also fill in during staff shortages and support shift leads in completing punch-list items, using proper personal protective equipment, and presenting a professional appearance and conduct. Understanding customer service and satisfaction, as well as reporting systems and the environment, is also part of the role.
