About The Position

Story Land is seeking a Night Security Agent to maintain a safe environment for guests and employees on park property and the employee residence hall. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. This role involves enforcing park and dorm rules, monitoring assets, identifying safety concerns, communicating issues to relevant departments, and documenting incidents accurately. The Security Agent will also manage crowd control during emergencies, utilize monitoring systems, and respond to irregular conditions. This position is crucial for ensuring a secure and positive experience for all visitors and staff.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work third shift (overnight) if the park security operates on a 24-hour schedule
• Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipment
• Ability to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions
• Ability to apply knowledge of security methods, procedures, interviewing, listening, and note-taking techniques for specific situations
• Ability to deal fairly, objectively, and courteously with the public without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or political beliefs
• Ability to analyze people and/or situations quickly and calmly and take appropriate actions in a quick and effective manner
• Ability to operate a variety of electronic equipment, such as cameras, radios, personal computers, or other communication devices
• Ability to professionally and calmly deal with stressful and/or tense situations
• Ability to collaborate with other team members, external first responders, and emergency personnel during emergency situations
• Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
• Ability to maintain certifications as required by assignment

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1+ year of previous security or related experience highly desired
• Wisconsin Security Identification Card are preferred, but not required
• Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all Park and Dorm rules and regulations
• Monitor Park assets with intent to ensure the safety of all our guests and hosts
• Maintain constant vigilance of assigned location to identify any potential issues or safety concerns
• Communicate any potential issues to other departments and/or leadership in a timely manner
• Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guests
• Monitor resident safety and communicate conflicts to supervisor
• Accurately document any incidents in residence hall in timely manner for HR to address with residents in a timely manner
• Take control of emergency and intense situations while remaining calm
• Professionally manage crowd control during emergency situations
• Exercise clear and concise communications with all park departments
• Utilize electronic card access, closed circuit television, and other audio/visual monitoring systems, monitors and supervises the response to all reports or irregular conditions, including the unauthorized entry of persons or vehicles to protected buildings and areas, breaches of perimeter security or any other suspicious activities occurring on the property.
