About The Position

We are currently seeking a night shift Scale Operator for our Cortland, NY location. Schedule will be Sunday-Friday 5pm to 5:30am. Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Requirements

Reliable transportation to and from work site
Strong work ethic
Strong math skills
Physical Organization and time management
Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary
Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
Consent to a DMV license evaluation
Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Nice To Haves

Ability to read and understand SDS
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree
Basic math
Run forklift (training preferred)

Responsibilities

Operation of scale to weigh trucks as they enter and exit facility
Record keeping
Assist drivers loading trucks with asphalt
Make and load oil
