Night Porter
About The Position
Hilltop Commons Senior Living is seeking a dependable and attentive Night Porter for a full-time, benefits-eligible, on-site role on the overnight (NOC) shift. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM. Working closely with the Community Administrator and the on-site team, the Night Porter helps maintain a clean, secure, and well-kept community in accordance with Ray Stone Inc. standards. The role monitors the property overnight, supports building security, and serves as the primary point of contact in emergency situations and for after-hours phone calls. The ideal candidate is reliable, observant, and committed to providing residents, guests, and staff with a safe and comfortable environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience in a janitorial or housekeeping position.
- Ability to walk and stand regularly and use hands to handle or lift objects.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, crouch, kneel, or climb stairs.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
- Ability to perform substantial wrist, hand, and/or finger movements.
- Close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
- Ability to walk short distances.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with seniors is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls through the community’s pull cord or pendant system, depending on the assigned community.
- Serve as the main point of contact for after-hours phone calls.
- Maintain clean and well-kept grounds, including sidewalk areas, outside entrances, and patio furniture.
- Dust, vacuum, and maintain the cleanliness of common areas, including the kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, exercise rooms, library, and game room.
- Take trash and recycling to the appropriate bins or dumpsters.
- Perform periodic building walk-throughs and check that all entryways are secure.
- Report in and read the logbook each shift to support accurate communication and documentation of issues.
