About The Position

Drives around a specified geographic area to locate and report sign/lighting outages or other service issues. This role involves surveying the repair and service needs of sign and lighting components, documenting outages with pictures and notes, and reporting findings to a supervisor. The position also requires relaying information to other departments and personnel, determining the best travel routes for efficient surveying, and maintaining records. Basic maintenance of company vehicles may also be required.

Requirements

  • Less than high school education; or up to one-month related sign project experience or training.
  • Must have a state-issued driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to drive an automobile.
  • Ability to communicate in person.
  • Ability to see from a distance.
  • Ability to maneuver through various apps successfully.
  • Ability to sit; use a computer to enter data; use a telephone to converse with YESCO employees.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities include clarity of vision at a distance of 50 feet or more.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a predetermined route to survey repair and service needs of sign and lighting components.
  • Document outages by taking pictures and notating details.
  • Locate signs on a map and determine outage or service issue locations.
  • Estimate the size and characteristics of outages or service issues and report findings.
  • Relay information to other departments, store managers, and/or owners.
  • Determine and plan best traveling routes for efficient surveying.
  • Maintain records and logbooks.
  • Perform cleaning, preventative, and operator maintenance on company vehicles if provided.
  • Assist Night Patrol Supervisor with duties.
  • Submit clear photos and descriptions to assist techs and contractors.
  • Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.
