About The Position

Manages the Night Patrol employees. Drives a truck or automobile over specified geographic areas to locate and report sign and lighting outages and sign service issues and creates assessments and summaries based off of those reports by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Requirements

• Less than high school education or up to one year related sign project experience or training.
• Must have a state issued driver’s license in good standing
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write correspondence
• Ability to use word processing, and spreadsheet software
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to drive an automobile
• Ability to communicate in person
• Ability to see from a distance
• Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Responsibilities

• Assigns night patrollers to specific geographic areas of coverage to ensure the upmost efficiency of efforts
• Maintains surveillance from YESCO company vehicle to detect evidence of sign and lighting outages and sign service issues
• Documents outages by taking pictures and writing down other details
• Locates signs on area map, determines sign and lighting outage and/or sign service issues location and address
• Estimates size and characteristics of outage or service issue, and reports the findings
• Relays information to other interested departments, store managers, and/or owners
• Determines and plans best travelling routes to ensure specified geographic area is fully surveyed and best time management is utilized
• Maintains records, logbooks, and reports
• Tracks hours, mileage, routes, etc. for each subordinate night patroller
• Creates service orders based upon information received by night patrollers
• Reviews and corrects night patroller record data to ensure accuracy of information
• Acts as a resource to night patrollers to assist them with any needs or issues
• Provides night patrol training to new and current employees
• Performs cleaning, preventative, and operator maintenance on YESCO company vehicles
• Provides second opinion for more complicated service issues
• Draws maps to assist techs and contractors locate outages
• Delivers parts
• Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned
