About The Position

This is an overnight, summer seasonal position. The Night Lobby Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel's public areas and grounds. Duties include assisting guests with their baggage, supporting front desk staff with guest services, maintaining the appearance of hotel floors, and contributing to the security of staff and guests. The role requires working independently and using a checklist to ensure all tasks are completed.

Requirements

  • Partial High School; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
  • Strong sanitation habits including attention to detail.
  • Able to recognize when a problem has occurred and report it to management.
  • Able to work alone and with little or no direct supervision, using a checklist.
  • Able to work overnight shifts.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of guests and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly to be understood by same in English.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Work overnight shift, approximately 10:00pm to 6:00am.
  • Greet hotel guests and park visitors in a friendly manner, provide information and services including carrying baggage to and from parking lot and rooms.
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas of hotel including dusting, emptying garbage, picking up litter, maintaining hotel lobby.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and buff all floor surfaces on hotel ground floor.
  • Periodically deep clean.
  • Clean and sanitize all ground floor rest rooms; replenish rest room supplies.
  • Replenish fireplace wood supply from storage; lay and maintain fire.
  • Clean windows as needed/requested.
  • Check guests into hotel when front desk is not staffed during overnight hours.
  • Assist night security in providing security in the hotel for guests and employees by making sure doors are locked as needed.
  • Resolve guest concerns and complaints within scope of authority; refer to management as appropriate.
  • Performs such other related duties as directed or required.
