About The Position

This is a part-time, flexible evening position where the employee will drive around specified geographic areas to locate and report sign/lighting outages or other service issues. The role involves working for approximately 3 hours after dark, taking about 30 photos of assigned routes within Houston zip code areas (77581, 77546, 77479, 77002, 77550, 77554) and surrounding areas.

Requirements

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to drive an automobile (personal).
Ability to communicate in person.
Ability to see from a distance.

Responsibilities

Drive an automobile around a predetermined route to survey the repair and service needs of sign and lighting components.
Document outages by taking pictures and notating other details per established procedures using a smartphone.
Locate signs on an area map, determine sign and lighting outage and/or sign service issue locations and addresses.
Estimate the size and characteristics of outages or service issues.
Work within routes to ensure the specified geographic area is fully surveyed and utilize best time management.
Use a personal vehicle and smartphone to complete work.
Interact as needed with supervisor.
