About The Position

Advantage Academy of Hillsborough is seeking a Night Lead Custodian to supervise and work alongside the evening cleaning crew. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the building and its premises, including regulating HVAC systems, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and performing various cleaning tasks. The position requires the ability to handle physical demands and work in a specific environment.

Requirements

Ability to lift, push and/or pull objects, which may approximate 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for up to six (6) continuous hours.
Ability to stand, stoop, reach and bend; mobility of arms to reach, dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate large and small objects.
Ability to smell, taste and feel, in order to determine quality of food products.
Work with caustic and non-caustic chemicals.
Ability to work with frequent interruption and to supervise a variety of tasks.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma, completion of GED or equivalent courses preferred
Previous experience as a Custodian preferred

Responsibilities

Supervise and work alongside evening cleaning crew.
Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas, neat and clean at all times.
Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
Sweep classrooms daily and dust furniture.
Clean corridors after school each day, and during the day when their condition requires it.
Scrub, hose down, and disinfect toilet floors daily, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
Wash all windows on both inside and outside at least twice each year, and more frequently if necessary.
Keep the grounds free from rubbish.
Clean all dry erase boards at least once a week.
Report major repairs needed promptly to the Facilities Manager.
