About The Position

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for processing soiled linens and distributing clean linens to ensure a consistent supply for the hotel's operations. This role involves operating laundry equipment, maintaining cleanliness in the work area, and ensuring all linens meet quality standards. The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of public areas, storage spaces, and administrative areas to ensure a pleasant guest experience. This role supports the housekeeping team by delivering supplies, removing trash, and assisting with various cleaning tasks throughout the hotel.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and ironers.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness in public areas.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Good communication skills to interact with team members.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and consistently.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and sort soiled linen into appropriate containers.
  • Operate washers, dryers, sheet spreaders, ironers, and feeder/folders to process linen.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Place folded linen and terry cloth in designated storage areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the assigned work area.
  • Notify Supervisor or Manager of any equipment malfunctions, damaged linens, or supply needs.
  • Follow hotel safety standards and use only approved chemicals.
  • Perform routine laundry tasks and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Clean and maintain all public areas, storage areas, and administrative spaces.
  • Respond to guest requests by delivering supplies and service items to guestrooms.
  • Dust, vacuum, and maintain public areas, hallways, restaurants, and rest areas.
  • Polish metalwork and furniture in public and administrative areas.
  • Collect soiled linens and transport them to the laundry, and store clean linens appropriately.
  • Vacuum floors and clean restrooms as assigned.
  • Remove trash from public and back-of-house areas.
  • Clean outside areas, including arrival zones and the porte-cochère.
  • Replenish supplies in designated areas as needed.
