About The Position

1UP Entertainment + Social is a high-energy venue featuring bowling, axe throwing, golf simulators, VR, arcade games, two bars, and an upscale scratch kitchen. We are seeking a hands-on Night Kitchen Supervisor to manage service execution from dinner through closing, including high-volume events, Latin Night, and catering. This role involves partnering with the Day Kitchen Supervisor, with cross-training and constant communication to ensure seamless kitchen operations. The position is predominantly PM shifts, but requires schedule flexibility for events and catering, which may necessitate working days, nights, or mid-shifts. A minimum of 25 hours per week is guaranteed, with potential for full-time hours based on experience and fit.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of kitchen experience in a high-volume restaurant or bar.
  • At least some lead, shift-lead, or sous experience, demonstrating the ability to run a shift.
  • Strong line skills across multiple stations.
  • Ability to expo, including setting ticket timing, plating to standard, and quality-checking dishes.
  • Comfortable opening or closing solo.
  • Experience with Square KDS or a similar kitchen display system.
  • Excellent communication skills with cooks, FOH, bar, chef, and the Day Supervisor.
  • A can-do attitude with a problem-solving approach.
  • Schedule flexibility, including PM shifts, days, nights, mid-shifts, weekends, holidays, and event programs.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, prep par levels, and basic cost awareness.
  • Food handler certification required (ServSafe a plus, required within 60 days).
  • Must wear non-slip closed-toe shoes, use a hair restraint, and maintain clean uniform standards.
  • Ability to stand and move for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot/cold conditions.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Work the line and lead the team, acting as a working supervisor who cooks, runs a station, coaches cooks, and assists the team as needed.
  • Run the kitchen independently during slower hours, and for opening or closing routine operations, events, or catering jobs.
  • Manage the expo window, including calling tickets, setting timing across stations, plating, and quality-checking every dish, with careful attention to allergen and dietary tickets.
  • Oversee PM service execution and lead production for events, Latin Night, and catering.
  • Perform end-of-night closing duties, including cleaning, sanitation, equipment shutdown, flushing lines, inventory counts, waste tracking, and preparing the kitchen for the next day.
  • Report flag pulls and 86s to the chef and Day Supervisor.
  • Coordinate coverage and cross-train with the Day Supervisor on all kitchen aspects, including ordering, prep, production, service, and closing.
  • Communicate effectively with the Manager on Duty, chef, FOH, and bar staff.
