About The Position

PARC Retirement Living is seeking a Night Housekeeper to join their Oceana PARC team in White Rock. This role is responsible for night-shift janitorial and safety/security duties, acting as the first responder in case of overnight emergencies. PARC communities are designed for active seniors, providing inspiring spaces for residents to live well and engage with a vibrant community. The Night Housekeeper is a caretaker of this vision, ensuring the well-being and safety of residents and staff during the night.

Requirements

  • At least two years of janitorial or housekeeping experience in the hospitality or senior-living industry.
  • Solid knowledge of security procedures.
  • Completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Able to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
  • Possess current WHMIS, First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Able to self-direct and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Able to respond to emergency situations effectively when required.
  • Understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services engaged with our residents.
  • Must be able to obtain a Criminal Record Check and a TB test within the first month of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Building security training and/or completion of a Building Services Worker Program.
  • A Health Care Aide qualification.
  • FOODSAFE Level 1.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sanitizing common areas according to a pre-set schedule.
  • Performing laundry services as needed.
  • Answering phone calls and screening visitors at building entry points.
  • Conducting security patrols and monitoring video surveillance to ensure resident and staff safety throughout the night.
  • Responding to resident calls and emergencies; providing First Aid and contacting emergency services and the on-call manager as required.
  • Logging and communicating overnight issues or occurrences.
