About The Position

PARC Retirement Living is seeking a Night Housekeeper to join their Mulberry PARC team in Burnaby. This role is responsible for night-shift janitorial and safety/security duties, acting as the first responder in case of overnight emergencies. PARC communities are designed for active seniors, focusing on independent living and nurturing physical and mental well-being. The Night Housekeeper is a caretaker of this vision.

Requirements

At least two years of janitorial or housekeeping experience in the hospitality or senior-living industry.
Solid knowledge of security procedures.
Completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
Able to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
Possess current WHMIS, First Aid and CPR certifications.
Able to self-direct and work effectively with minimal supervision.
Able to respond to emergency situations effectively when required.
Understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services engaged with our residents.
Must be able to obtain a Criminal Record Check and a TB test within the first month of employment.

Nice To Haves

Building security training and/or completion of a Building Services Worker Program are assets.
A Health Care Aide qualification would be an asset.
FOODSAFE Level 1 would be an asset.

Responsibilities

Cleaning and sanitizing common areas according to a pre-set schedule.
Performing laundry services as needed.
Answering phone calls and screening visitors at building entry points.
Conducting security patrols and monitoring video surveillance to ensure resident and staff safety throughout the night.
Responding to resident calls and emergencies; providing First Aid and contacting emergency services and the on-call manager as required.
Logging and communicating overnight issues or occurrences.
