Salary is based on experience as per the Classified Salary Schedule - level L, plus a comprehensive benefit package. Gladstone offers stipends for classified staff based on educational experience. Requirements

Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and safe and proper use of cleaning materials and equipment.
Able to perform minor repairs.
Perform heavy physical labor except for temporary disability.
Able to work at height of at least 8 feet using lifts, scaffolding and ladders as required by supervisor except for temporary disability.
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with students, staff and general public.
High school diploma or equivalent experience considered appropriate by the district.
Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening and criminal history and fingerprint background check.
Emotional and physical stamina to perform the duties as required except for temporary disability.
Regular attendance and punctuality.
Annual training on clean up of blood borne and body fluid spills.
Must be able to read and understand product labels and MSDS sheets.

Nice To Haves

Experience in custodial/maintenance work preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintaining assigned areas in a clean and sanitary manner.
Provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff and the general public.
Reporting custodial/maintenance concerns to maintenance supervisor.
Work cooperatively and collaboratively with co-workers.
Work cooperatively with community schools supervisors to facilitate community schools programs.
Provide professional and courteous service to students, staff and the general public.
Clean and sanitize assigned areas as per daily schedule.
Minor routine maintenance, e.g. replace burned out lights, replace ceiling tile, replace glides on chairs, etc.
Maintain equipment used in course of work.
Maintain areas around trash and recycle containers.
Report maintenance, safety and sanitation concerns to night-lead custodian or building administrator.
Assist in moving/rearranging classroom furniture and equipment.
Assist community schools personnel and participants, and other visitors to facilities.
Perform other tasks as may be deemed appropriate by the maintenance supervisor and administrators.
