The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned. This role involves performing janitorial duties, adhering to a daily schedule, and managing hazardous waste responsibilities. The custodian will operate motorized cleaning equipment, maintain daily upkeep of their assigned area, and report any incidents or hazardous conditions to their supervisor. Compliance with safety rules, policies, and procedures is essential, as is the ability to stop at-risk behavior of others and self. The position requires working collaboratively with team members, performing repetitive tasks, and maintaining a clean work area. Following all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules is mandatory. The custodian must be able to take direction, respond to supervision, and communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers. They may also be required to fill in during staff shortages and support shift leads in completing punch-list items, while using proper personal protective equipment and presenting a professional appearance and conduct. Understanding customer service and satisfaction, as well as reporting systems and the environment, is also part of the role.
