About The Position

Procon is seeking an experienced Night Construction Inspector to support a cruise terminal renovation project in Port Canaveral, Florida. This onsite role will provide quality assurance and construction inspection oversight during night-shift activities, helping ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with contract documents, approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably involving construction inspection, quality assurance, quality control, or construction management.
  • Previous experience as a Construction Inspector, QA/QC Inspector, QA/QC Manager, or similar field-based construction role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, installation methods, and industry quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply construction drawings, specifications, and other contract documents in the field.
  • Experience inspecting multiple construction disciplines, including architectural, structural, MEP, and life safety work.
  • Knowledge of construction safety requirements and OSHA standards, with the ability to recognize and communicate potential jobsite safety concerns.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience preparing professional field reports, correspondence, inspection documentation, and construction records.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies between field conditions and contract requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with contractors, project managers, design professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound field observations and recommendations during night-shift construction activities.
  • Must be willing and able to work the night shift for the duration of the project.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience with port, maritime, cruise terminal, transportation, or other complex infrastructure projects is a plus but not required.
  • Some daytime and weekend work may be required based on construction activities and project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality assurance and inspection oversight for construction activities, evaluating workmanship, materials, installation methods, and overall quality of work against construction drawings and specifications.
  • Lead and coordinate onsite inspection activities during the night shift to verify compliance with contract documents, design requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor and document construction progress, confirming that work conforms to approved plans, specifications, and established quality standards.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, submittmits, and related project documentation to support field inspections and verify contractor compliance.
  • Identify deficiencies and non-conforming work and coordinate with the project team and contractors to support timely resolution.
  • Prepare clear and detailed daily field reports, non-conformance notices, inspection records, and photographic documentation for project records and deliverables.
  • Evaluate and verify contractor pay applications based on observed progress and completed work.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with project health, safety, and environmental requirements, including applicable OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, project representatives, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Support project closeout activities, including punch-list inspections, verification of corrective work, testing, commissioning-related observations, and final inspections.
  • Confirm that completed work meets contract requirements prior to final acceptance and turnover.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and professional construction site records throughout the project.
  • Be available for occasional daytime or weekend activities when project conditions or critical construction operations require onsite inspection coverage.
