About The Position

The Night Building Attendant ensures resident safety overnight, takes care of the community, and prepares the team for the day ahead. This role involves responding to in-house emergency requests, providing assistance to emergency personnel, and monitoring the building for safety and security. The attendant also serves as a welcome and communication ambassador, greeting residents and visitors professionally, and is responsible for cleaning lobby areas, administrative offices, bathrooms, lounges, dining rooms, elevators, fixtures, and windows, including garbage and recycling disposal.

Requirements

High school education - Grade 10 minimum (Grade 12 preferred).
Basic Computer knowledge (Microsoft word, email etc.).
Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the position.
Demonstrated ability to carry out significant amounts of lifting, bending, stopping and stretching.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Demonstrated effective problem solving skills.
Detail oriented, with good organizational abilities.
Demonstrated ability to organize workload and to respond efficiently and effectively to unexpected workload and situations.
Demonstrates a consistent well groomed appearance and hygiene at all times.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a hospitality and/or seniors’ environment is preferred.
Current CPR and First Aid Certificate are desirable.
Experience in daily cleaning/laundry duties an asset.

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety of residents overnight.
Take care of the community and prepare the team for the day ahead.
Respond to in-house emergency requests/needs in a timely manner.
Provide assistance to emergency personnel if required.
Monitor the building to ensure it is safe and secure at all times.
Serve as the community's welcome and communication ambassador during shifts.
Greet residents, visitors, and members of the public in a friendly and professional manner.
Clean the lobby area and administrative offices, including garbage pickup and disposal, recycling, and vacuuming.
Ensure the cleanliness of office areas, bathrooms, lounges, dining room, elevators, fixtures, and windows as assigned.
Perform other housekeeping duties as needed.
