About The Position

The Night Auditor is responsible for balancing daily financial transactions, completing the end-of-day audit process using the PEP property management system, and delivering outstanding guest service during overnight hours. This role requires calm, confident judgment in high-pressure situations — from handling late arrivals and billing discrepancies to managing emergencies and coordinating with on-call support when needed. You are the face of the hotel when everyone else has gone home.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, and/or equivalent experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Math skills.
  • 1-2 years of hotel front desk or night auditor experience preferred
  • Customer Service Skills required.
  • Financial management skills required.
  • Brand systems knowledge preferred

Nice To Haves

  • PEP property management system knowledge
  • PEP experience preferred
  • Experience in a hotel or related field

Responsibilities

  • Complete the nightly audit process and reconcile all revenue, room charges, and departmental transactions using PEP
  • Balance front desk cash drawer and prepare daily reports for management review
  • Process check-ins, check-outs, and room changes with accuracy and professionalism at all hours
  • Respond to guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints with urgency and empathy — resolving issues on the spot when possible
  • Monitor hotel security, manage access logs, and respond appropriately to emergencies including medical incidents, fire alarms, and disturbances
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance for overnight needs and early-morning readiness
  • Communicate shift summary and outstanding items clearly to the morning team via written log and verbal handoff
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming front desk environment throughout the shift
  • Uphold all Hilton brand standards, Shamin Hotels policies, and Virginia Beach property regulations
  • Performs all audit procedures as set forth by the Hotel and company, on a daily basis.
  • Performs and attributes all required audit reports.
  • Verifies the status of all wake-up call requests and ensures they are properly handled.
  • Balances all cash receipts and work performed during the audit shift.
  • Prepares the front office for the ‘A’ shift and reset days business.
  • Acts as a Guest Service representative during the night time hours.
  • Acts as the manager on duty during the night time hours.
  • Attends and actively participates in all front office meetings.
  • Participates in all training and cross training programs.
  • Acts as PBX operator during the audit shift.
  • Assists breakfast attendants by setting up breakfast areas as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
  • Reports to work for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
  • Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
