The Night Auditor is responsible for conducting all nightly audit-related duties while providing guest service at the hotel's front desk. This role involves balancing duties, daily paperwork, and shift reports. While completing these duties, the Night Auditor will attend to guest needs such as guest check-in/check-outs, making reservations, and answering guest questions. The position requires proactive thinking, a constant focus on guest security, and creating a safe, clean, and friendly work environment. The Night Auditor is responsible for counting cash and maintaining the accuracy of the issued cash drawer at the beginning and end of each scheduled shift. They will check the front desk log for problems and special requests, greet, register, and assign rooms to guests, and process guest registrations, including collecting payment. The role also involves preparing express checkout folios, maintaining room status inventory, and communicating all pertinent shift information to the Front Office Manager, General Manager, and other desk staff. Maintaining and cleaning the lobby and bathroom as needed, and communicating all information to the following shift to ensure a smooth transition are also key responsibilities. The Night Auditor works closely with all hotel departments to ensure the highest quality of customer service, answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions, and explains in-room and hotel features. The role is responsible for completing all required shift paperwork and night audit reports daily, and performing other duties as assigned by management.
