The Night Auditor is responsible for balancing and auditing room revenue, food and beverage revenue for accuracy. This role assists in the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues and prepares various audit worksheets and Daily Flash Reports. The Night Auditor assumes responsibilities of the Manager on Duty from midnight until the morning shift arrives, logs guest complaints, and registers guests into and out of the hotel. This position balances and audits room and tax charges, cashiers reports, and guest and house accounts. The Night Auditor completes and transmits daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents, prepares customer tracking reports, market segmentation reports, and food and beverage revenue reports to ensure accurate accounting of hotel revenues and expenses. This role communicates with other hotel departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and performs all Guest Service Representative functions as required. Additional duties include assisting with room reservations, answering hotel phone calls, facilitating department key security, responding to guest requests, handling confidential information with integrity, making daily deposits, verifying room charges and rates, managing daily paperwork, submitting reports to the corporate office, monitoring room availability, blocking rooms, performing security walks, understanding emergency procedures, preparing continental breakfast, performing laundry functions, and potentially making management decisions in the manager's absence. The Night Auditor must maintain a professional image and follow company policies and procedures.
