The Night Auditor is responsible for completing all nightly audit functions while delivering exceptional guest service at the hotel’s front desk. This role involves assisting guests with check-ins and check-outs, processing reservations, and responding to inquiries, ensuring a high level of service throughout the overnight shift. Key aspects include proactive thinking, maintaining guest security, and fostering a safe, clean, and friendly work environment. The Night Auditor is also responsible for cash handling, maintaining the accuracy of the cash drawer, and checking the front desk log for issues. Daily duties include greeting, registering, and assigning rooms to guests, processing payments, preparing express checkout folios, and managing room status inventory. Communication is vital, requiring the auditor to relay pertinent shift information to the Front Office Manager, General Manager, and other desk staff, and to the following shift for a smooth transition. The role also involves maintaining the cleanliness of the lobby and bathroom, collaborating with other hotel departments to ensure customer service quality, and providing information on hotel services, local attractions, and travel directions. Completing all required shift paperwork and night audit reports daily is also a core responsibility, along with performing other duties as assigned by management.
