About The Position

The Night Auditor is responsible for computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete. This role performs a combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for guest account records. The Night Auditor also checks the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings recorded by others. Additionally, this position accommodates hotel guests by registering and assigning rooms, issuing keys, transmitting messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guest accounts, making reservations, and presenting statements and collecting payments.

Requirements

Prior cash handling experience and two years customer service experience preferred.
Experience working with computers and operating keyboards.
Must pass criminal background check.

Hotel experience helpful.
May require a valid Driver License with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze all adjustments.
Thoroughly understand accounting machine for front office.
Ensure that all charges have been posted to the appropriate guest folio or master account.
Post room tax to each folio or master account.
Ensure that all front office charges and miscellaneous charges and adjustments have been posted and balanced out.
Ensure all guest charges have been balanced and all appropriate reports have been run and all supporting documentation is attached to the appropriate reports.
Answer telephone.
Check guests in and out.
Attend mandatory meetings.
Report any unsafe conditions immediately.
Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.
Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
