About The Position

The Night Auditor is responsible for both regular Front Desk duties and performing night audit procedures. This role involves providing guest service after hours, including check-ins and phone calls, and completing the night audit. Responsibilities include resolving accounting issues, running quality control reports, and preparing the Front Desk for the next day's operations. The position requires the ability to work with minimal supervision, use initiative, and be punctual and reliable. Excellent communication, customer service, teamwork, and the ability to multitask with various software applications are essential. Previous guest service experience and schedule flexibility are required. Applicants with an accounting background will be given preference. Schedules include nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts, especially during the winter season. The role also involves reduced hours and potential seasonal layoff during the summer, with possible changes in pay and shift requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to remain awake and alert throughout the night.
  • Ability to work well with various computer systems including Microsoft Office programs.

  • Accounting experience and experience working with various property management systems is an advantage.
  • Prior Night Audit experience.
  • Previous guest service/front desk/hospitality/resort experience.
  • College degree in Hospitality/Resort or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular Front Desk duties and night audit procedures.
  • Provide after-hours guest service, including check-ins and phone calls.
  • Complete the night audit during the shift.
  • Resolve accounting issues that may arise.
  • Run quality control reports.
  • Prepare the Front Desk for the next day's operations.
  • Work with little to no supervision and use initiative to handle unfamiliar situations.
  • Be punctual and extremely reliable.
  • Work unsupervised during the hours of 10:00pm and 8:00am three to four days a week, with supervisor support via cell phone.
  • Handle a wide variety of situations that may arise throughout the night, in addition to regular Front Desk Agent functions.
  • Be alert and able to function during all hours of the night to provide great guest service.
  • Run all night audit functions within the property management system.
  • Be accountable for all monies received at the Front Desk and responsible for turning in monies and reports to Accounting.
  • Review lodging transactions daily to ensure accurate and timely revenue and expense recording.
  • Ensure outlet charges post correctly on guest folios by processing all traffic sheets for Copper retail and restaurant operations.
  • Check in and check out Guests.
  • Answer phone calls appropriately.
  • Assist with any special projects/assignments.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for Copper Mountain Resort between 11pm and 7am during winter, responsible for dispatching security and/or emergency services.
  • Assist and train new employees during the winter season.
  • Model and share the Copper “culture” with guests and employees.
  • Uphold a professional image.
