About The Position

The Hotel Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing overnight front desk operations, reconciling financial transactions, and ensuring the safety and comfort of our guests. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to provide outstanding service while maintaining a calm and welcoming presence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience, preferably in a hotel setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional grooming and professional demeanor in accordance with company standards.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to confidently interact with guests.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of accounting programs, mathematical skills, and analytical abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to remain focused and troubleshoot issues independently during overnight shifts.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Shift4, WebRez Pro, and Micros preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and professionally, providing prompt assistance and exceptional service.
  • Maintain an active presence in the hotel lobby, offering direction and assistance as needed.
  • Act as a guest liaison, ensuring all needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Register guests, assign rooms, and handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
  • Process cash, credit, and check transactions accurately.
  • Handle guest reservations, modifications, and cancellations.
  • Assist guests with dining reservations, local event tickets, and travel arrangements.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel lobby and Sundry Store.
  • Ensure the quiet hours policy is followed, addressing noise complaints professionally.
  • Act as the manager on duty, resolving guest concerns and referring to management when necessary.
  • Review, verify, and reconcile daily financial transactions.
  • Audit the shift closing of front desk personnel for accuracy.
  • Research and resolve any unposted tickets or reservation discrepancies.
  • Review all payments received and ensure totals match system records.
  • Process outstanding balance reconciliations and maintain a log of credits.
  • Audit Wine POS transactions in the Sundry Store and roll the business date at the designated time.
  • Review and address potential no-show reservations.
  • Generate and distribute guest ledger and audit reports as requested.
  • Communicate financial discrepancies or questionable activity to hotel management and the Controller.
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests and associates during overnight hours.
  • Be familiar with hotel security protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Provide calm and reassuring assistance to guests and associates in emergency situations.
  • Investigate and resolve security concerns or unusual activity.
  • Maintain detailed pass-down communication for management and incoming shifts.
  • Answer incoming calls with professionalism, taking reservations and handling guest messages.
  • Prepare daily newspapers and coffee station for morning guests.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Understand and uphold the Ponte Values and Service Standards.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of guests and associates.
  • Maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Follow environmental and sustainability initiatives set by the company.
  • Treat all associates and guests with respect and courtesy.
