About The Position

The Night Auditor in our 40 Rooms department plays a key role in ensuring smooth overnight operations, accurate daily financial reconciliation, and a safe, welcoming environment for guests. This hourly, part-time position combines front desk guest service with end-of-day accounting and reporting tasks. Working independently during late evening and overnight shifts, the Night Auditor is responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial records, supporting late-arriving and early-departing guests, and preparing the property for the next business day.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and comfort working with numbers and reconciliations
  • Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn property management and point-of-sale systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data and guest information
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and remain productive with minimal supervision during overnight shifts
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in handling guest issues and unusual situations
  • Reliability and punctuality with a consistent ability to work evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks such as lifting, bending, or moving materials up to a moderate weight
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in hotel front desk, accounting, or night audit preferred but not required
  • Additional hospitality or accounting coursework is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform nightly audit of daily hotel revenues, postings, and transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Balance room charges, taxes, payments, and adjustments between the front desk system and accounting records
  • Run and review daily reports for management, including occupancy, revenue, and variance reports
  • Handle guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and room assignments during evening and overnight hours
  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Monitor property security and access points, reporting and documenting any unusual activity
  • Process payments, verify methods of payment, and resolve basic billing questions or discrepancies
  • Prepare and organize front desk materials, reports, and documentation for the following day’s staff and management
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all nightly transactions and reports
  • Ensure lobby, front desk, and common areas remain clean, presentable and welcoming throughout the shift
  • Communicate important guest issues, maintenance needs, and operational updates to the incoming shift
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards during overnight operations
