The Night Auditor is responsible for performing night audit functions to verify all daily transactions, packaging all reports in an organized manner for recordkeeping, and preparing and balancing the flash report to fax/email to key team members. This role also involves maintaining an operating bank, rendering bills, issuing change, and managing comps and direct mail coupons to ensure billing profiles are accurate. The Night Auditor must complete a shift checklist and submit it to the designated supervisor, work effectively with peers, team members, and regulatory agency personnel, and be willing to train new team members. Additionally, they will complete hotel work orders and inform pertinent team members of issues via written and verbal communication, demonstrating flexibility to adjust work priorities as necessary. The hotel operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day, requiring schedules to accommodate fluctuating business demands, and team members may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work, with overtime as required. The role requires the ability to operate various types of equipment, including personal computers and Microsoft Office programs, LMS, Bally’s, key encoder machine, PBX multi-line console, telephone, printers, copy and facsimile machines. The Night Auditor must also maintain confidentiality of business and financial matters and information related to the property, tribal owners, partners, guests, and team members. They must practice safety standards, verbally report all safety issues to hotel maintenance immediately, and issue work orders through the electronic work order system. Following universal precautions, bloodborne pathogen procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) procedures as required is essential. Taking responsibility for keeping a safe work area by knowing where to get information, how to read product labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and when and how to warn others about hazards is crucial. Adherence to and compliance with all safety regulations when handling chemicals according to MSDS is required. Prompt reporting of equipment malfunctions to the supervisor and maintenance order system is necessary. Providing assistance to other employees to contribute to the smooth operation of the department and the hotel, and maintaining the security of equipment, keys, and supplies issued each day are also key responsibilities. Promoting excellent guest service through a courteous, tactful, and patient manner with other team members, management, guests, vendors, and the general public is expected. Practicing the 5/10 rule (making eye contact and acknowledging/verbally greeting guests or team members within a 10-foot and 5-foot radius, respectively) is mandatory. Reporting any suspicious activities by guests or others immediately is required. Performing other related duties as may be assigned by the reporting senior is also part of the role.
