About The Position

My Place Hotel Huntersville is looking for a dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting guests, completing nightly financial audits, maintaining clean and welcoming public areas, and supporting safe and smooth hotel operations overnight. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, is comfortable working independently, and can stay organized and attentive throughout the overnight shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills and clear verbal and written communication.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn the hotel's property management system.
  • Strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to handle payments and review financial records accurately.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the overnight shift.
  • Dependable attendance, professional conduct, and flexibility with scheduled workdays.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hotel front desk, night audit, or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests, process check-ins and check-outs, make and update reservations, answer telephone calls, and respond to guest questions and requests.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and refer issues to management when necessary.
  • Complete the nightly audit according to hotel procedures.
  • Review guest accounts, verify room charges, taxes, purchases, and other applicable fees.
  • Reconcile cash and credit card transactions, and prepare accurate daily reports for management.
  • Process payments and credit card authorizations.
  • Maintain accurate guest and reservation records.
  • Balance the cash drawer, and complete required shift paperwork.
  • Protect guest information and follow hotel payment-handling procedures.
  • Conduct property checks as directed, monitor entrances and public areas, follow key-control procedures, and promptly report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or unusual activity.
  • Follow hotel emergency procedures and contact management or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Keep the front desk, lobby, public restrooms, coffee station, and other assigned areas clean, organized, and stocked.
  • Tasks may include wiping surfaces, vacuuming, mopping, emptying trash, cleaning glass doors, and preparing fresh coffee.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and properly store hotel linens and towels.
  • Keep the laundry area clean and organized, deliver guest supplies as needed, and assist with occasional guest-room cleaning when operationally necessary.
  • Review the front desk log at the start of each shift.
  • Clearly document guest concerns, maintenance requests, payment discrepancies, incidents, and unfinished tasks.
  • Provide a thorough handover to the morning shift.
  • Maintain familiarity with room types, rates, hotel policies, amenities, loyalty programs, and nearby services.
  • Treat guests and coworkers respectfully, follow management instructions, complete assigned checklists, and perform other related duties as needed.
