About The Position

The Night Audit position is a full-time role responsible for managing hotel operations during the night shift. This includes ensuring guest satisfaction, maintaining accurate records, and handling financial transactions. The role requires effective communication, knowledge of hotel services, and the ability to resolve guest issues.

Requirements

  • Ability to exert physical effort in lifting and/or transporting at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull carts and other equipment up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for lengthy periods of time.
  • Knowledge of all hotel features/services, hours of operation, room rates, special packages and promotions, daily house count, local attractions and expected arrivals/departures and scheduled daily group activities.
  • Knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  • Ability to verify guest information upon arrival and departure.
  • Ability to maintain and secure a cash bank.
  • Ability to process all payments according to established hotel requirements, and Commonwealth Lodging Management cash handling S.O.P.’s.
  • Ability to process adjustments, rebates, paid outs, and credits as required.
  • Ability to post and audit Banquet charges.
  • Ability to maintain all guest information and hotel occupancy status using hotel operating systems.
  • Ability to reconcile telephone calls and miscellaneous accounts and audit all miscellaneous charges.
  • Ability to verify package postings on house accounts, run end of day program & close day and checks that interfaces are up and running.
  • Ability to run morning reports and backup reports and distribute them accordingly.
  • Ability to print express check out folios and distribute.
  • Ability to review the Night Audit checklist and verify that all work has been completed.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel features, services, hours, rates, promotions, and local attractions.
  • Maintain and use equipment correctly.
  • Answer telephone within 3 rings with proper greeting and etiquette.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas.
  • Verify guest information upon arrival and departure.
  • Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments.
  • Maintain and secure a cash bank.
  • Process payments according to hotel requirements and S.O.P.'s.
  • Process adjustments, rebates, paid outs, and credits.
  • Post and audit Banquet charges.
  • Maintain guest information and hotel occupancy status using hotel operating systems.
  • Reconcile telephone calls and miscellaneous accounts.
  • Audit all miscellaneous charges (Banquets, Bars, etc.).
  • Verify package postings on house accounts.
  • Run end of day program, close day, and check interfaces.
