Provides advanced clinical nutrition expertise and comprehensive medical nutrition care to patients across the continuum of care. Responsibilities include conducting nutrition assessments, developing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans, providing dietary guidance and education, and supporting complex nutritional needs. The role also provides leadership and guidance to dietitians and nutrition professionals and contributes to the development of programs, policies, and practices that promote high-quality patient care. Effective January 1, 2024, the minimum degree requirement for eligibility to take the registration examination for dietitians changed from a bachelor's degree to a graduate degree. All other didactic and supervised practice eligibility requirements remain unchanged. This degree requirement does not apply to Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) who were credentialed prior to January 1, 2024.
