About The Position
Saint Peter's is seeking talented, compassionate registered nurses to join its Neonatal ICU team. Saint Peter's has earned its seventh consecutive Magnet designation and its first Magnet with Distinction designation, recognizing exceptional nursing practices and patient outcomes. The NICU RN assesses patients, develops and provides individualized care, supports and supervises other health team members, educates patients and significant others, and helps prepare patients for discharge and home health maintenance. The position is for nights.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
- BLS certification approved by the American Heart Association is required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) certification Part I is required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) certification Part II must be obtained during clinical orientation.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred; alternatively, a BSN must be obtained within three years of the hire date.
Responsibilities
- Assess the health status of assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care based on patient assessments and the Multi-Disciplinary Plan of Care.
- Provide direct patient care or direct and supervise other health team members to ensure care is implemented in accordance with New Jersey Board of Nursing requirements, current regulatory guidelines, the ANA Code of Ethics, and institutional policies and procedures.
- Teach patients and significant others about health or illness status and the plan of care.
- Ensure patients and significant others are prepared for discharge and health maintenance at home.
