About The Position

The Neonatal Registered Respiratory Therapist – (NICU RRT – I), functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of respiratory care. The NICU RRT–I will be responsible for the respiratory assessment, therapeutic treatment, evaluation, testing, education and communication as it pertains to the patients and processes in the Level III NICU. The NICU RRT–I will provide neonatal airway management, including intubation with assistance, resuscitation and stabilization for all high-risk deliveries. The NICU RRT–I must interface with all members of the neonatal health care team. The NICU RRT–I is expected to provide an exceptional patient experience for our babies and their families. The NICU RRT–I is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Ohio Respiratory Care Laws, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional and system policies.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in respiratory care and a graduate of AMA /CoARC accredited program for Respiratory Care.
  • Holds and maintains an Ohio license to practice respiratory care.
  • CRT /RRT credential by the NBRC.
  • BLS and NRP for health care providers must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Successfully complete the clinical and didactic orientations for neonatal critical care area.
  • Successfully complete the annual competencies provided by the department for the appropriate patient care areas.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 2 years' Level III NICU experience is preferred.
