NICU Registered Nurse – Developmental Care Collaborative (Nights)
About The Position
Join our Developmental Care Collaborative (DCC) team at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies and make a lasting difference in the lives of medically complex infants. This role involves working alongside experts in neonatology, respiratory care, nutrition, rehabilitation, and developmental services to provide specialized care to infants requiring extended NICU support due to chronic pulmonary, respiratory, and feeding-related conditions. The DCC is a specialized multidisciplinary team dedicated to caring for these infants, promoting developmental progress, family engagement, and successful transition planning. Patients cared for may include infants requiring prolonged NICU hospitalization, those with chronic pulmonary or respiratory conditions like severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), those needing long-term ventilatory or respiratory support, infants experiencing complex feeding or gastrointestinal challenges, and those who benefit from coordinated multidisciplinary care for long-term outcomes and transition readiness.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department.
- Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- NRP required for Neonatal Intensive care Unit (NICU).
- At least one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Nice To Haves
- NICU experience preferred.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to medically complex neonatal patients.
- Monitor and manage patients with advanced respiratory support needs.
- Support feeding plans and collaborate with nutrition, speech-language, occupational, and physical therapy teams.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning.
- Educate and support families throughout the hospitalization journey.
- Coordinate discharge preparation and caregiver training.
- Advocate for developmental and family-centered care practices.
- Collaborate with pulmonology, respiratory therapy, and additional specialty services as appropriate.
