About The Position
RCX Sports is seeking NFL FLAG Officials (1099 Independent Contractors) to support NFL FLAG leagues across Michigan. We hire and staff officials year-round for multiple seasons (Spring, Summer, and Fall), with assignments varying by league location and seasonal schedule. This role offers training in NFL FLAG rules, mechanics, and game-day expectations, with weekly pay starting at $30 per game. The work environment is fun, positive, and focused on learning, sportsmanship, and respect.
Requirements
- Physically fit and able to handle running during games
- Ability to remain level-headed in high-pressure situations
- Strong people skills for confident interaction with players, parents, and coaches
- Knowledgeable of the rules and referee signals (training will be provided)
Responsibilities
- Officiate youth NFL FLAG games in accordance with NFL FLAG rules, safety protocols, and the prescribed game format
- Manage game time, flow, and schedules to support efficient league operations
- Identify rule violations and communicate penalties clearly to players, coaches, and spectators
- Maintain neutrality and professionalism, including de-escalating disputes when needed
- Conduct pre-game field and equipment inspections to ensure safe playing conditions
- Complete required post-game reporting and documentation
- Promote a positive, welcoming environment that emphasizes learning, fun, and respect for all participants
- Officiate assigned games to RCX Sports standards
- Submit timely post-game reports as required
- Arrive on time and represent RCX Sports professionally at all assigned locations
