About The Position

The NF Recovery Production Lead (NFRPL) is responsible for the day-to-day activities related to the collection, processing, and handling of Auto Shredder Residue (ASR) before it is sent to landfills, as directed by the NF Recovery Production Supervisor/Manager. This role requires adherence to nonferrous (NF) metal recovery and fluff stockpiling processes in compliance with state regulatory requirements. The NFRPL must also communicate any repair and maintenance issues to the NF Recovery Production Supervisor/Manager, ensuring all actions comply with the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. The position requires knowledge of machinery, tools, raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques for optimizing operational efficiency. This role operates under flexible parameters with the primary goal of achieving excellence in all aspects, focusing on providing a high-quality product safely, effectively, and efficiently to reduce accidents and errors and increase profits.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED Certification, or 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with customers and other employees required.
  • Ability to sit rarely; stand and walk frequently on uneven ground and throughout the yard.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds consistently.
  • Ability to push and pull occasionally when moving materials.
  • Ability to crouch or bend at the knees consistently to move or access materials or equipment.
  • Ability to stoop or bend at the waist consistently to move materials.
  • Ability to reach at arms length and overhead frequently.
  • Ability to twist and turn at the neck and trunk continually.
  • Ability to climb occasionally when obtaining items.
  • Manual dexterity required as the NF Recovery Production Lead will handle, grasp, and manipulate materials constantly.
  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing continually.
  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and documentation.
  • Mental dexterity needed as the NF Recovery Production Lead will work independently while demonstrating attention to detail and continuous awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Strictly adheres to all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Provides a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.
  • Oversees adherence to schedules, job assignments, and activities to ensure efficient and optimal productions rates with minimal overtime.
  • Monitors adherence to established safety programs and goals to reduce accident frequency within department.
  • Adheres to scheduled manpower, equipment, downtime, and timeline projects at the NF Recovery Plant.
  • Responsible for understanding the regulatory environment as it affects this department and the company’s relationship with the regulatory agencies.
  • Ensures processing and storage of finished goods is completed in compliance with established guidelines and discusses off grade/spec materials with the NF Recovery Production Supervisor/Manager prior to shipment.
  • Provides guidance to department employees on multiple shifts.
  • Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
  • Recommends the purchase of chemicals, fly ash or cement pumps and/or parts necessary to maintain proper functioning of the NF Recovery Plant.
  • Report all equipment deficiencies or malfunctions for maintenance or repair to the proper supervisor.
  • Supports the Company’s Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating, and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures, and controls to better relate to the business.
  • Communicates upward problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions.
